She’s the First Poetry Month 2012 Submission!
Students were asked to write a poem answering the question:
If the World Was Your Classroom, What Would you teach a girl?
—-
If the world was my classroom, I would teach a girl about what and who makes up this world.
I would take her to Egypt to observe the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
I would take her to the fashion capital of Milan, Italy to see where creativity in design is one-of-a-kind.
I would take her to the Great Wall of China, one of the world’s greatest structures for defense.
I would take her to the United Kingdom to see Stonehenge, a megalithic rock monument.
I would take her to Australia to listen to music and watch ballet at the Sydney Opera House.
I would take her to Tanzania to explore Mount Kilimanjaro and its three volcanic cones.
I would take her to France to learn how to make tomato bisque or crème brulée.
I would take her to the Amazon River in South America, which is the largest river in the world.
I would take her to Peru to climb Machu Picchu, one of the Incas best creations.
I would take her to New York to view the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom.
If the world was my classroom, each day is a new day to learn and discover.
